Is screen-time okay for our little ones?

Updated: Jan 21, 2019

As a parent it may become difficult to cope with a child born in this tech-era. It usually takes their favorite television program to calm them down or showing them the 'baby shark' sing along dance on your cellphone after a tantrum. We're starting to see a trend of Ipad's becoming a requirement at schools and our kids are becoming more dependent on social media for the many questions that they have. Should we worry that they spend all this time on digital devices? As much as we'd love to say yes, kids should not be exposed to devices - it's not that simple.

Kids are often smarter when they've been exposed to the right information and learning new things plays an important role in the development of a child. The downside is that yes, blue light radiation from screens is harmful to our little ones and it is our responsibility to make it safer for our kids. If you can't afford a filter for all your child's devices (they can be quite pricey) , perhaps consider getting them a pair of unscripted blue control spectacles that are not required to correct vision but to protect it. So far this option has given us happy parents and happy kids with healthy eyes.
